Why is the concept of charity necessary for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Charity is a manifestation of God's grace in us, encouraging believers to give to the poor as an act of worship.

Charity is vital in the Christian life, rooted in the example set by Christ, who, though rich, became poor for our sakes (2 Corinthians 8:9). This act of self-sacrifice calls believers to live not for themselves but to support and uplift others, especially those in need. By giving generously, we reflect God's unsearchable riches and demonstrate the heart of the Gospel: that grace compels us to serve others. When we care for the needy, we participate in God's redemptive work in the world, fulfilling the command to be good stewards of the blessings He has bestowed upon us.
