Why is the concept of Christ as Alpha and Omega important for Christians?

Answered in 2 sources

Understanding Christ as Alpha and Omega gives assurance of His sovereignty and the security of salvation.

Recognizing Christ as both Alpha and Omega is vital for Christians as it encapsulates His sovereign control over all creation and history. This doctrine reassures believers that their salvation is secure, as Christ reigns over all. He is not only the initiator of redemption (Alpha) but also the consummator who will complete the work He started (Omega). Revelation 22:13 further affirms His eternal presence and authority, which instills hope in believers facing trials and uncertainties. Knowing that Christ will bring all things to completion helps reinforce the trust and faith Christians place in Him.
