Why is the concept of Christ having no sin important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

The sinlessness of Christ is vital as it establishes Him as the perfect sacrifice for our sins.

The importance of Christ's sinlessness cannot be overstated in Reformed theology. He had to be without sin to bear the full weight of God's wrath against sin on behalf of His people. Hebrews 9:28 speaks of Christ being offered once to bear the sins of many, affirming that His perfect nature qualified Him to be the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world (John 1:29). Without His sinlessness, the efficacy of His sacrifice would be compromised, and believers would lack the assurance of salvation. Thus, recognizing Christ as sinless is foundational to the believer's faith and assurance of redemption.
