Why is the concept of Christ's humanity important for Christians?

Answered in 4 sources

Christ's humanity is vital as it allows Him to fully identify with us, experience our sufferings, and serve as our perfect high priest.

Understanding Christ's humanity is essential for Christians as it assures us that He fully empathizes with our struggles and experiences. Hebrews 2:14 reinforces this by stating that Jesus took on flesh to share in our humanity. Through His earthly life, He experienced temptation, sorrow, and joy, which allows Him to effectively intercede for us as our high priest. Furthermore, His identification with our human condition is central to our redemption, for He had to be made like us in every respect to be a merciful mediator (Hebrews 2:17). This assures believers of His intimate understanding of our weaknesses and His faithful advocacy.
