Why is the concept of division important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Division is an important concept as it highlights the truth of the Gospel and the reality that not everyone will accept it.

The concept of division is essential for Christians because it reflects the reality that the message of Jesus Christ is inherently divisive. In John 7:43 and Matthew 10:34, we see that Jesus Himself warned of division arising from His teachings. This division stems not from the believer's actions but from the truth of God's Word. As believers, we are called to share the Gospel, which may lead to conflict, but our focus should be on Christ, as He is ultimately the issue. Paul, too, encouraged followers to pursue peace (Romans 14:19) while remaining grounded in the truths of the faith, making it necessary to be prepared for opposition and strife as we stand firm in our beliefs.
