Why is the concept of faith significant for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Faith is significant for Christians as it is the means by which believers receive grace and grow in their relationship with Christ.

Faith is the crucial means through which we access God's grace and experience growth as Christians. In Galatians 3:16, Paul emphasizes that the promises are made to the seed, which is Christ, highlighting that our faith in Him is foundational for our spiritual life. The believer's faith, albeit as small as a mustard seed, is powerful because it connects us to the complete and perfect righteousness of Christ. This relationship allows us to grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord (2 Peter 3:18) and transforms our character, leading us to reflect Christ’s humility and goodness (Philippians 2:5). Growth in faith does not make us self-reliant, rather it cultivates a deeper dependence on Christ, enabling us to manifest the fruit of the Spirit in our lives.
