Why is the concept of federal headship important for Christians?

Federal headship refers to the theological concept that Adam represents all of humanity in his actions. Therefore, when he fell into sin, all his descendants fell with him. Understanding this concept highlights the seriousness of sin and the need for a savior, which is fulfilled in Christ.
