Why is the concept of having a mediator important for Christians?

The necessity of having a mediator in our spiritual lives cannot be overstated for Christians. Without a mediator, there would be no way to bridge the gap caused by our sin, which separates us from a holy God. As Romans 5 emphasizes, we are all sinners and are naturally at enmity with God. The role of Jesus as mediator is to resolve this conflict, bringing us back into a relationship with God. This is not based on our works or merit but solely on Christ's sacrifice and His role in interceding for us. As believers, acknowledging Jesus as our mediator reassures us of our standing before God and encourages us to seek His forgiveness and reconciliation.
