Why is the concept of holiness important for salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Holiness is essential because God is holy and requires that we too be made holy to enter His presence.

The concept of holiness is fundamental to understanding salvation because a holy God cannot accept anything unholy. Isaiah 35:8 emphasizes that the way of salvation is a 'way of holiness,' signifying that true salvation must align with God’s holy nature. In our unclean state, we cannot walk on this highway of holiness unless we are made righteous through Christ. Hebrews 12:14 states that without holiness, no man shall see the Lord. Thus, it is crucial that we are sanctified and made holy by the blood of Christ, allowing us to partake in the blessings of salvation.
