Why is the concept of the incarnation important for Christians?

Answered in 2 sources

The incarnation is vital for Christians as it represents God's ultimate act of love and the means of our redemption through Christ.

The incarnation embodies God's love, as seen in John 3:16, which states, 'For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son...' It highlights God’s initiative in salvation, where the Word became flesh to save humanity from sin. This union of divine and human natures in Christ assures believers that He fully understands human suffering and can intercede for us. Moreover, the incarnation is the basis for the believer's hope, as it guarantees that our salvation comes through a Savior who is both God and man, who through His life, death, and resurrection, provides redemption and reconciliation with God.
