Why is the concept of the pure oil important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

The pure oil is important as it represents the Holy Spirit's work in sanctifying believers.

The concept of pure oil is vital for Christians because it symbolizes the Holy Spirit's purity and holiness. In the tabernacle, the oil had to be pure olive oil to represent the work of the Holy Spirit in making believers holy. The oil, which was beaten from olives without being ground, signifies that the Spirit is given through Christ's suffering. As the Holy Spirit indwells the believer, He creates a new creation that is holy and set apart for God's use (2 Corinthians 5:17). This emphasizes the continuous need for believers to seek the Holy Spirit's filling to maintain spiritual vitality, akin to how the lamps in the tabernacle had to be continually supplied with oil.
