Why is the concept of the two Adams significant for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

The two Adams, Adam and Christ, illustrate the contrast between death through sin and life through salvation.

The concept of the two Adams is vital for understanding Christian salvation. Adam, as the first man, represents the origin of sin and death; 'in Adam all die' (1 Corinthians 15:22). He brought sin into the world, which resulted in spiritual death for all humanity. In contrast, Christ, referred to as the second Adam, offers redemption and eternal life. 'Even so in Christ shall all be made alive.' (1 Corinthians 15:22). This duality highlights the great need for salvation and the hope we have in Christ's resurrection. Christians are made alive in Him, showcasing the profound Gospel message that through one man's disobedience came death, but through one man's obedience, we receive life and restoration.
