Why is the crucified Christ important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

The crucified Christ is central to the Christian faith because He is the ultimate sacrifice for sin, making Him essential for atonement.

The importance of the crucified Christ for Christians cannot be overstated, as He is the focal point of the gospel. Every believer must recognize that, like the sacrificial system of the Old Testament, the shedding of Christ's blood was necessary for the atonement of sins. As the sermon highlights, 'without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin' (Hebrews 9:22). Just as the altar of the tabernacle was the first thing one would see upon entering, so too must every Christian first see Christ crucified when approaching God in worship. He is the substitute sacrifice, and it is through His blood that believers can attain salvation and forgiveness.
