Why is the death of Moses significant in understanding the law?

Answered in 1 source

Moses' death symbolizes the end of the law's role in salvation for believers.

Moses, who represents the law throughout Scripture, died, indicating that the law cannot lead God's people into the promised inheritance. Instead, Christ fulfills the law, fulfilling its requirements and thus bringing an end to its authority over those who believe. Romans 7:4 states that believers are 'dead to the law through the body of Christ.' Therefore, just as Moses could not enter the promised land due to his failure to fully sanctify God before the people, so believers are freed from the curse of the law through Christ’s obedience and sacrificial death, highlighting the transition from reliance on the law to faith in Christ for righteousness.
