Why is the fear of final condemnation important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

The fear of final condemnation reminds Christians of the gravity of sin and the importance of being in Christ.

The fear of judgment at the final day is a serious concern for all believers, as illustrated by 2 Corinthians 5:10, which assures us that we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ. This fear, however, is tempered by the hope we have in Christ's redemptive work. Paul states in Romans 8:34 that Christ, who died and rose again, intercedes for us, removing the ultimate fear of condemnation. Understanding the weight of our sin leads us to rest in the assurance that, through Christ, we are safe from the wrath of God and secure in our salvation.
