Why is the fear of the Lord important for wisdom?

Answered in 1 source

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, as it establishes a correct relationship with God.

In Job 28:28, it is concluded that the fear of the Lord is wisdom. This 'fear' entails a reverence and respect for God’s holiness and authority, which is foundational for gaining true wisdom. The acknowledgment of God’s sovereignty instills in us a desire to seek His guidance, obey His commandments, and live in a manner that reflects His character. As we grow in our understanding of who God is, we also deepen our wisdom, which then informs our actions and decisions. This sacred fear transforms our hearts and minds, leading us to live righteously before Him.
