Why is the gospel important for healing?

Answered in 1 source

The gospel provides spiritual healing by offering forgiveness, reconciliation, and restoration through Christ.

The gospel is central to Christian faith and practice because it offers healing for the sin-sick soul. As mentioned in the sermon, the Son of Righteousness comes with healing in His wings. This signifies not only physical healing but, more importantly, spiritual healing as it addresses the root of human distress—sin. In John 3, Christ is presented to provide salvation, not condemnation, highlighting that His primary aim is to reconcile humanity to God. Healing occurs when we embrace the righteousness and love offered through the gospel, empowering us to overcome despair and hopelessness. Thus, the gospel becomes a balm for our ailments, providing peace and assurance in the promises of God.
