Why is the grace of God important for salvation?

Answered in 3 sources

The grace of God is essential for salvation, as it empowers the spiritually dead to respond in faith and receive healing and life through Christ.

The grace of God is the means by which spiritually dead sinners are called to life and faith in Jesus Christ. In the narrative of the healing in Luke 6:6-11, the man's response to Jesus’ command serves as a picture of how God's effectual grace works in the hearts of the chosen. Although the man was unable to stretch forth his hand by his own efforts, Jesus’ command came with the divine power to obey. This illustrates that God’s grace is not only a call to faith but also an enabling force that brings new life to those who are dead in sin (Ephesians 2:1). Understanding this grace is foundational for recognizing the sovereignty of God in salvation.
