Why is the holiness of Christ important for Christians?

Answered in 6 sources

The holiness of Christ is crucial for Christians because it assures us of His worthiness to be our Savior and the righteousness we need.

Christ's holiness is the foundation of our worship and acknowledgment as He reigns on a throne of holy justice. In Psalm 99, the holiness of God is presented as the reason to bow and worship Him. This very holiness underscores why He alone is capable of fulfilling the law and justifying sinners without compromising God's justice. Through Christ, who is perfectly holy, we receive both imputed righteousness and the impartation of a new, holy nature, making His holiness central to our understanding of salvation.
