Why is the holiness of God significant for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

The holiness of God highlights His distinct character, which underlines our need for a Savior.

God's holiness is one of His most emphasized attributes throughout Scripture, as seen in Isaiah 6 with the seraphim proclaiming, 'Holy, holy, holy.' It signifies His complete otherness and purity, which is crucial for understanding the depths of His grace and mercy. Without recognizing God's holiness, we cannot fully grasp the seriousness of our sin, nor can we appreciate the grace afforded to us through Christ, who bore our sins on the cross as our substitute.
