Why is the Holy Spirit significant for believers?

Answered in 1 source

The Holy Spirit is significant for believers as He awakens, convicts, and empowers them to understand the Gospel (John 16:8).

The role of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer is essential for spiritual awakening and growth. John 16:8 states that the Holy Spirit will convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. This awakening is the first experience believers have and is crucial for recognizing their need for salvation. Moreover, the Spirit not only opens our eyes to our sinfulness but also reveals the sufficiency of Christ’s atoning work on the cross. As believers continue to walk in faith, the Holy Spirit nurtures spiritual growth, produces the fruit of the Spirit, and ensures believers are conformed to the image of Christ over time.
