Why is the idea of eternal security important?

Answered in 1 source

Eternal security is vital as it assures believers that they will never be lost once saved, as stated in John 6:37.

In John 6:37, Jesus promises, 'All that the Father gives to me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.' This declaration speaks to the certainty of salvation for those whom the Father has drawn to the Son. Eternal security comforts believers with the truth that their salvation is not contingent on their actions but on God’s sovereign grace and His promise to keep them. Understanding eternal security empowers Christians to live in faith and obedience, free from the fear of losing their salvation.
