Why is the incarnation of Christ important for salvation?

Answered in 6 sources

The incarnation is essential because only as a man could Jesus truly fulfill the requirements of the law and die for the sins of His people.

The incarnation of Christ holds profound significance in salvation as it allowed God the Son to be united with humanity, sharing in flesh and blood (Hebrews 2:14). This was necessary for Him to fulfill the obligations of the law on behalf of His people and to provide a perfect sacrifice for sin. Being made a little lower than the angels for a time, Jesus suffered death so that through His sacrifice, He could destroy the power of sin and death (Hebrews 2:9-10). Only by becoming a man could He represent humanity and bear its sins effectively, revealing God's ultimate plan of redemption.
