Why is the law important in understanding Christ?

Answered in 1 source

The law points us to Christ by revealing our need for redemption and highlighting His righteousness.

The law serves a vital role in the life of a believer by revealing our sinfulness and necessity for a Savior. Galatians 3:24 states that the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ. It demonstrates God's holiness and the impossibility of achieving righteousness through our own efforts. When we understand the law's demands, we see the beauty of Christ's fulfillment of the law on our behalf, thereby appreciating His grace and mercy even more deeply.
