Why is the law not our rule of life as Christians?

Answered in 1 source

The law is not our rule of life because we live under grace, not allowing it to dictate our actions.

As believers, we are no longer under the law as a rule of life because Christ has fulfilled the law on our behalf. Romans 10:4 explains that Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. Instead of adhering to the law for acceptance, we are to live by faith and in the love of Christ, which compels us to act righteously out of gratitude for His sacrifice and grace. The law's role was to reveal sin and our need for salvation; thus, we now reflect Christ's character as our guiding principle, living empowered by the Holy Spirit.
