Why is the law weak for salvation?

Answered in 1 source

The law is considered weak because it cannot bring about righteousness or salvation; it only reveals sin.

In Romans 8:3, it is emphasized that the law, while holy and just, is weak in that it cannot justify sinners. Instead, it serves as a mirror, revealing our inability to uphold God’s standards. The law cannot grant salvation; it condemns, highlighting our need for a Savior whose righteousness fulfills the law's requirements. The writer of Hebrews explains that the priestly system under the law was insufficient; true redemption and righteousness come through faith in Jesus Christ, who embodies the true fulfillment of the law.
