Why is the Old Testament important for Christians?

Jesus affirmed the authority of the Old Testament when He stated, 'Had you believed Moses, you would have believed me—for he wrote of me' (John 5:46). This indicates that the writings of Moses are not only historically accurate but are also central to understanding Christ's divine mission. Doubting the authenticity of the Old Testament undermines the entirety of Christian faith, as Jesus Himself relied on its truths, presenting them as divine revelation.
