Why is the person of Christ considered precious?

Answered in 1 source

The person of Christ is precious because He is the eternal Son of God, the delight of the Father, and fully God and fully man.

Christ is described as precious because He embodies the fullness of deity and is the unique God-man mediator. Proverbs 8:30 illustrates that Christ was always the delight of God. His preciousness is also reflected in God's exaltation of Him, as every knee shall bow to Jesus Christ. This uniqueness, along with His eternal nature, underpins why faith in Him is essential for all who wish to be accepted by God. For believers, acceptance before God can only be found in Christ, as no one else carries this level of preciousness in the eyes of the Father.
