Why is the person of Jesus important for Christians?

For Christians, the person of Jesus is central to their faith as He is both fully God and fully man. His divine nature ('white') signifies His holiness, while His humanity ('ready') reflects His identification with us. Ultimately, Jesus is the source of salvation, having borne our sins on the cross.
