Why is the presence of Jesus important for Christians?

Answered in 6 sources

The presence of Jesus is vital for Christians as it brings grace, strength, and spiritual illumination to the church.

For Christians, the presence of Jesus during gatherings is of utmost importance because it is through His presence that the church finds its identity, purpose, and effectiveness. The church is described as a golden candlestick, and without Christ's illuminating presence, these candlesticks cannot shine. His presence nourishes the believers, provides comfort, and empowers them for ministry and outreach. When Christ is present, He opens hearts to receive the Gospel, just as He did with Lydia in Acts 16. Thus, the presence of Jesus is the source of the church's vitality and mission, reinforcing the need for Christians to gather regularly, encouraging one another in the faith.
