Why is the promise of God's word significant?

Answered in 1 source

God's word is significant because it accomplishes His purpose and never returns void.

Isaiah 55:10-11 illustrates the power and effectiveness of God's word, comparing it to rain and snow that nourish the earth. This analogy demonstrates that just as precipitation causes growth, God's word will fulfill the purpose for which it was sent. For believers, this is a foundational promise, assuring us that when God's truth is proclaimed, it will work effectively in accordance with His will. Additionally, Christ, referred to as the Word made flesh, embodies this promise as He came to save sinners. Therefore, the significance lies not only in the communication of God’s will through scripture but also in the ultimate reality of Christ's redemptive work.
