Why is the righteousness of Christ necessary for entry into heaven?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's righteousness is essential as it is the only means by which sinners can be justified before God.

Entry into heaven requires a perfect righteousness that can only be found in Jesus Christ. According to Ephesians 1, believers are chosen in Him before the foundation of the world, and it is through His obedience and sacrificial death that they are justified. Romans 3:21-22 explains that the righteousness of God is revealed through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. Without being clothed in the righteousness of Christ, no one can stand before a holy God. This imputed righteousness is what grants believers access to the eternal state of glory promised to them.
