Why is the role of the church important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

The church is vital for Christians as it is the community of believers through which God builds His kingdom and supports growth in faith.

The church serves as the body of Christ on earth, consisting of believers who are being built together as a spiritual house (1 Peter 2:5). Within this community, believers receive teaching, fellowship, and accountability, all of which are crucial for their spiritual growth. The church is not just a social gathering but the living manifestation of Christ's work, where individuals are encouraged to live out their faith in meaningful, communal ways. As stated in Hebrews 10:24-25, Christians are called to 'consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works,' emphasizing the role of the local church in nurturing and encouraging each other in the faith.
