Why is the sacrifice of Christ necessary?

Answered in 1 source

The sacrifice of Christ is necessary for the atonement of sin and reconciliation with God.

The sacrifice of Christ is central to the Christian faith, as it fulfills the requirements of the Old Testament sacrifices while providing a once-for-all atonement for sin. In the tabernacle framework, all sacrifices pointed to Jesus as the perfect and final lamb. Hebrews 13:10 affirms that we, as believers, have an altar where our sins are truly atoned for through Jesus Christ, who became our offering. Without His sacrifice, there would be no access to God and no hope of eternal life.
