Why is the sufficiency of Scripture important for Christians?

Answered in 2 sources

The sufficiency of Scripture ensures that God’s Word alone is enough for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness.

The sufficiency of Scripture asserts that God's Word provides everything necessary for salvation and spiritual growth. It teaches us, corrects us, and guides us in righteousness without the need for additional revelations or experiences. When Christians embrace the sufficiency of Scripture, they protect themselves from the dangers of charismatic movements that suggest additional revelations beyond the Bible. Faith should rest solely on God's Word rather than on personal experiences or feelings. Upholding this sufficiency keeps the focus on the finished work of Christ and the truth proclaimed through the Scriptures.
