Why is the veil important for Christians?

Answered in 2 sources

The veil illustrates the barrier of sin and the access to God provided through Christ's sacrifice.

The veil serves as a powerful symbol of the barrier that sin creates between God and humanity. In the tabernacle, the veil reminded the Israelites that access to God's presence was limited and required a mediator. However, with Christ's death, this veil was torn (Matthew 27:51), signifying that the barrier had been removed through His sacrifice. This has profound implications for Christians, as it highlights that we can now approach God with confidence, free from the condemnation of sin, and enter into a personal relationship with Him. Thus, the veil represents both a warning and a promise of access to God through Christ.
