Why is the work of the Spirit important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

The work of the Spirit is vital as it imparts life and enables believers to live in accordance with God's will, free from the law's condemnation.

The Holy Spirit plays a crucial role in the life of a believer. As Romans 8:2 states, the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus sets us free from the law of sin and death. The work of the Spirit is to lead us toward spiritual transformation, enabling us to reflect the character of Christ in our lives (2 Corinthians 3:18). Unlike the law, which was a ministration of death, the Spirit brings life and empowers us to fulfill the righteous requirements of the law through love (Romans 8:4). This transformation is essential for living as children of God, seeking to obey His commands out of love rather than obligation.
