Why is there division among people about who Jesus is?

Answered in 1 source

Division arises because people have varying opinions and misunderstandings of Jesus' true nature.

The sermon points out that, like during Jesus' time, there are many conflicting ideas about who He is. In Mark 8 and throughout the Gospels, we see that people said Jesus was everything from a prophet to John the Baptist, yet none recognized Him as the true Messiah. This division often stems from ignorance of Scripture and an unwillingness to accept the fullness of who Christ is. Paul warned of another Jesus being preached (Galatians 1:6-9), indicating that unfamiliarity with the Scriptures leads to widespread misconceptions. This serves as a call for Christians to ground their beliefs in the truth of God's Word.
