Why is trust in Christ crucial for salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Trusting in Christ is essential because salvation comes solely by grace through faith, not by works.

Salvation is a gift from God that is received through faith in Jesus Christ, rather than through our own works or merits. The Scriptures reveal that confidence in human righteousness or abilities is ultimately in vain, as our best efforts fall short of God's glory. Trusting in Christ means relying on His finished work at Calvary, recognizing that He has completely satisfied the demands of God's law on our behalf. The call to trust in Christ is a call to abandon all hope in self-righteousness and to accept 'the righteousness of God which is by faith.' Without this trust, individuals remain under the burden of the law and face the certainty of judgment.
