Why is trusting Christ alone important for Christians?

Trusting Christ alone is essential for Christians because it ensures that believers place their confidence in the sufficiency of His work rather than their own efforts. The Bible clearly teaches that salvation cannot be attained through good works or adherence to the law, as expressed in Romans 3:20. Reliance on anything other than Christ's atoning sacrifice leads to a false sense of security, which ultimately results in spiritual failure.

Additionally, as believers, we are called to have a faith that rests entirely in Jesus. Galatians 5:2 warns against mixing faith in Christ with trust in our actions or experiences; doing so could nullify the grace of God at work in our lives. Embracing a faith that is wholly centered on Christ prevents Christians from succumbing to the dangers of legalism and self-righteousness, allowing them to rejoice in the assurance that their salvation is secured in Him alone.
