Why is trusting Christ important for Christians?

Answered in 18 sources

Trusting Christ is essential for Christians as it is the means through which we receive salvation and grow in spiritual maturity.

Trust in Christ is central to the Christian faith because it is through this trust that believers receive salvation. This trust is not about the amount of faith one possesses but rather its object—Christ Himself. As believers come to know Jesus more—as they trust Him and acknowledge their need for Him—they grow in spiritual maturity and find assurance in their salvation. Spiritual growth is also tied to how consistently believers engage with Scripture, prayer, and the community of faith. These practices reinforce trust in Christ, leading to a deeper understanding of His promises and a stronger position against doubt and fear.
