Why is trusting in Christ essential for eternal life?

Answered in 1 source

Trusting in Christ is essential as He alone provides the righteousness required to stand before God.

Entrusting oneself to Christ is paramount because He embodies the righteousness that God requires from His people. Romans 3:19-20 states that no one can be justified by the law since all are guilty. However, Romans 10:4 assures that Christ is the end of the law for righteousness. This means that through faith in Christ, believers receive His imputed righteousness, which allows them to enter into a right relationship with God and ultimately eternal life. Without this trust in Christ, no one can stand justified before the judgment seat of God.
