Why is trusting in Christ important for overcoming fears?

Answered in 1 source

Trusting in Christ brings comfort and strength amidst our fears.

Trusting in Christ is central to overcoming fears because He exemplified perfect faith in the face of adversity. Like David in Psalm 56 who expressed his fears to God, Christians are encouraged to bring their fears before Christ, who understands and empathizes with our struggles. This reliance on His strength is crucial; as Paul wrote, 'his strength is made perfect in my weakness.' Christ’s work assures us that we do not need to muster up our own courage, but rather we can find peace and confidence in His sufficiency and righteousness, ultimately leading us away from fear and toward trust.
