Why is trusting in God better than trusting in man?

Answered in 3 sources

Trusting in God is better than trusting in man because humans are flawed and unreliable, whereas God is faithful and sovereign (Jeremiah 17:5).

The Bible warns against placing our trust in man due to human fallibility and sinfulness. As stated in Jeremiah 17:5, 'Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength,' highlighting the futility of relying on human wisdom or power. In contrast, God is sovereign, faithful, and immutable, making Him the sole reliable source of trust. This truth is repeatedly illustrated through biblical narratives where human efforts falter, but God’s promises remain steadfast. By not trusting in ourselves or others, believers are encouraged to anchor their faith in the Lord, who can deliver them from trials and secure their eternal hope.
