Why is understanding Christ’s divinity important for Christians?

Understanding the divinity of Christ is central to Christian faith because it is through His divine nature that He can provide forgiveness and salvation. The scribes in Mark 2 doubted Jesus’ authority, mistakenly perceiving Him only as a man. However, acknowledging Christ as both fully God and fully man allows believers to trust in His ability to save and forgive. His divine authority is what provides the assurance that His sacrifice was sufficient to atone for sin, rendering believers not only forgiven but also righteous before God. Without acknowledging His divine nature, the foundation of salvation is undermined.
