Why is understanding Christ's two natures important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Understanding Christ's two natures is critical as it assures us of His ability to save and represent humanity before God.

The dual nature of Christ—His full divinity and full humanity—is essential for our salvation. As the eternal Son of God, He possesses the divine nature necessary for a perfect sacrifice. Simultaneously, His humanity equips Him to empathize with our weaknesses and sufferings. This makes Him the perfect mediator between God and man. Thus, recognizing both natures fortifies our faith in Him as the sinless Savior who is able to cleanse our sins and provide us with righteousness. Theologians refer to this as the hypostatic union, which is foundational to Reformed theology and integral to the gospel message.
