Why is understanding God's independence important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Understanding God's independence reinforces our reliance on Him and the truth that He does not need us.

Recognizing God's independence is vital because it shapes our understanding of our relationship with Him. God does not rely on us or any of His creation; He is entirely self-sufficient and needs nothing to enhance His glory. This reality, as expressed in Romans 11:34-36, emphasizes that God cannot be indebted to us, nor do we affect His state of being. Our worship and service should stem from an awareness that we depend on Him for everything, and in doing so, we align ourselves with the truth of who He is—sovereign, glorious, and independent.
