As stated in Isaiah 40:17, all human efforts are vain in light of God’s greatness. This realization leads to a humility that recognizes our total dependence on God’s grace for salvation. When we understand our inherent wickedness and helplessness, we become more appreciative of God's grace offered to us through Jesus Christ.
