Why is understanding Jesus' nature as both God and man important?

Answered in 1 source

Understanding Jesus as both God and man is crucial because it establishes His authority to redeem and His ability to relate to our struggles.

The dual nature of Christ as fully God and fully man is foundational to Christian theology. In His humanity, He identifies with our weaknesses, as seen in Isaiah 63:9, where it states that He was afflicted in all our afflictions. His humanity allows Him to stand in our place, fulfilling divine justice through His sacrifice. His divinity, however, assures us that He possesses the power to save us completely and derives His authority to enact salvation. This truth enables believers to approach Him not only as a distant deity but as a compassionate Savior who understands our struggles and intercedes on our behalf through His eternal character.
