Why is understanding my relationship with God important?

Recognizing whether we are of God or not shapes our understanding of salvation and assurance. As articulated by Jesus, there are only two categories: those who are of God and those who are not (John 8:44). This clarity is significant as it directs an individual to examine their belief in Christ and their reception of His Gospel. If we are truly of God, we will hear and believe His words, leading to a faith that is active and indicative of our new nature. This understanding also fosters a deeper relationship with God, enhancing our worship and obedience to His commands.
